Ray has been an Associate of HUH since 1990 and was Curator of Vascular Plants for the New
England Botanical Club (NEBC) from 1984 to 2008. Previously he was Assistant Curator from
1979 to 1984. Ray was associated with Harvard's Concord Field Station in Bedford,
Massachusetts from 1974 to 1998. Past projects include publication of his Concord Area
Trees, Concord Area Shrubs, Botanical Index to the Journal of Henry D. Thoreau, and
Concord Area Trees and Shrubs. Currently Ray is working with David Boufford on an atlas
of the flora of New England. Ray is also a regional reviewer for Flora North America.
